Don't Die

Don't Die I've learned to fill my black holes with droplets of hope perhaps someday a life unfair would be bleached to crystal clear and that which clouds my mind I'd fully understand I've learned to chalk my dark days with seven shades of grey, perhaps someday, perfection would dawn on me like sunshine does every evening what write I? Like moonlight surrounded by a blanket of dark skies my eyes beam light, hope, life, a similitude of dawn don't die #Pengician #SSA Enjoyed reading? Please leave a comment and share with friends. Keep Me Safe

Keep Me Safe till the storm passes over keep me safe from caving in till the thunder roar no more keep me safe from imploding till the clouds take a walk from the sky keep me safe from these dark thoughts till my fears are knocked over keep me safe from myself and my doubts till my tears flow no more keep me safe from becoming one with the waves till I unction all the 'whys' keep me safe from my thoughts suicidal till we talk it over in the place of prayer keep me safe till the storm passes by #WeShallFindJoy #Pengician #SSA Enjoyed reading? may you find joy

may you find j.o.y may you never lose your sense of wonder and cease not to wander in search of joy here and yonder may you hold on to your sense of humor and with it brighten the lives of everyone may you go beyond ordinary goals, discover the extraordinary, silence stereotypes and dislodge abnormal norms may you keep on trying to reach for your stars, perhaps you'd fall on the moon and silvery lights illumine may you never forget how wonderful you are and that you're unique, like everyone else may you always be patient with the problems of life, and know that heavy clouds will eventually give way to the sunlight of the joy that comes with dawn may you be rewarded with friendships not seasonal, and with love not conditional may you face challenges with renewed faith, meet every day with a knowing smile recognize every golden opportunity, and dance your way through storms may your source of income be a hydra so that your needs are met with little or no fin...

Friday Motivational || Look Up

Look Up! I had to get a new pair of eyeglasses that year. Stereotypism had started to mix with my nearsightedness making things a little bit blurry with my vision. Also I had to finally give in to another sign of long hours staring into the computer screen and get my first pair of bifocals. It has taken me several days to get used to the new pair. While it was great seeing clearly again and wonderful being able to operate the computer without squinting and bring my face one inch closer to the screen, the lenses were a challenge for me.  The problem was that whenever I was looking at something far away I had to keep my eyes up or else I got a wave of blurriness when I accidentally looked through the sides of lenses.  It did hurt then. I am glad that my eyes healed and I am way over it. It is no fun living in a blurry world. I am grateful for that experience for another reason too. It taught me a truth that I will hold close to my heart forever: whenever you need to see the road...

The Glory of Spring

The Glory of Spring I opened up the door this morning and did a little jig. I smiled at the falling rain even though the drops were big. Those drops didn't discourage me as they fell on the window pane, before the dawn of sunshine I knew there'd be some rain For now the barren gardens are floating in muddy gloom, soon they'll house the buds from where the flowers bloom. We've looked forward to a grand awakening that is happily in the works, a burst of new life from where the bare tree limb lurks. The snow has all melted, Jack Frost has been sent on his way, though we thought we'd never see it we welcome Spring this day. I saw a robin perched on the roof, perhaps scouting out a nest, I placed shedded dog hair on the fence post, mama robin will do the rest. Soon tiny tots on swing sets will be reaching for the sky, filled with wonder and laughter, the magic won't pass them by. The glory of Spring and the awakening it brings, is the joy in the tune that the bluebir...

The Lord Shall Deliver

THE LORD SHALL DELIVER "On mount Zion there shall be deliverance" – Obadiah 1:17 When the roof of protection cave in and the walls come crumbling when the foundations of faith quake do not forget to remember, the Lord shall deliver. When clouds heavy hover above and the night is dark and dreary when the days are wild and weary, do not forget to remember, the Lord shall deliver. When oceans try to sweep you away and the heathen roar and rage when hope is bleak and black do not forget to remember, the Lord shall deliver. When the snare entrap you and you dangle on a loose rope when rags become you only robe, do not forget to remember, the Lord shall deliver. #Pengician #SSA

Yes You Can! End Of Story

Life is not a holiday at the beach where children build sand castles and play with pebbles. It is a fight for survival and a battle against the ever scheming, always furious arch enemy of God and man. Everyone is involved in the warfare. Unfortunately not everybody wins. Some ignore the battle with endless hopeless hopes it will automatically go away and are consequently wiped out by the unsparing enemy. Others are ignorant of the devices of the devil and are consequently destroyed. A few are dogged and fight to finish. Which are you? If you desire dominion here on earth, you most fight the good fight of faith. If you must enjoy life here on earth, you must get outta your comfort zone and go dare your fears. Believe in yourself. Yes you can! End of story. Doubt your fears. Fear limits you. It cripples you. It kills! Snap off it! Keep your heads up. You're not inferior to any superior. Alright? Keep your head upright, walk like you got this under control, and go make the win. Smil...

At Least You Have Life | Stefn Sylvester Anyatonwu

POEM 360: AT LEAST YOU HAVE LIFE If by the end of the year you realize that you achieved just a few and gazing about, everyone made it but you be happy, at least you have life If you realize that the much energy exerted from the dawn of January compared to the little gain in the dusk of December, fall a little below average, be happy, at least you have life If of a sudden, you realize that time is ticking so fast  while the year hastens to its end and there's nothing you can change, be happy, at least you have life If after a sumptuous dream of happy endings, your tummy still rumbles in emptiness and your soul grumbles in barrenness, be happy, at least you have life Before you curl into a rumpled ball and throw up that pity party, just remember, you must become a meaningful specific  rather than a wandering generality Live! #365DaysOfPoetry #Pengician #SSA Enjoyed reading? God's My Dad | Stefn Sylvester Anyatonwu

POEM 359: GOD'S MY DAD while the world speeds by  sunlight looks upon me as I struggle along  and say "you have nothing left", because this hurt doesn't feel right but sunlight, you're so wrong, in my heart, I am rejoicing, how I wish your burning eyes could see the gleaned grin that saturates my heart and how joyfully, I thank God when things go wrong, because he'll make it right though this valley of bones echo the eerie plea of weary souls, there's a table prepared for me on the mountain top, I wouldn't settle for crumbs while the world speeds by  sunlight looks upon me as I struggle along, all that matters though the world may not see is that God's my dad and he's got my back #365DaysOfPoetry #Pengician #SSA Enjoyed reading? In Spite Of All | Stefn Sylvester Anyatonwu

POEM 347: IN SPITE OF ALL strong winds do not care to know whether or not the root is deep or shallow it just blows hard, bending, breaking, uprooting ocean waves do not consider the ship nor seamen losing sleep it just rises, high, rocking, flooding, upturning tough times are not concerned with my pain, whether or not I can bear another strain, it just happens, but with my broken wings, I've learned to fly #365DaysOfPoetry #Pengician #SSA Enjoyed reading? There's Tomorrow | Stefn Sylvester Anyatonwu

POEM 302: THERE'S TOMORROW Scars: There are scars in places I haven't seen, your heart, your voice, your blank stares. Nightmares: There are nights you wish you couldn't dream, last night, tonight, every other night. Unloved: There are things which were taken away, the love you gave, the love you received. Memories: There are losses that will always stay, Hangover of stolen kisses, Leftovers of broken promises. Depression: There are moments you want to die, Because lack Because loss Because limitations Numb: There are times you're too tired to cry, You're used to pain You're one with darkness You're at peace with your demons. Introverted: There are feelings no one will understand, The silence of your screams, The tears you mask behind smiles, The poems you write for love. Bent: There are burdens that don't let you stand, A heart laden with grief A back bent by burdens unshared. Expectations: There are people that broke your faith, The first, Sweetness, T...

Peace | Stefn Sylvester Anyatonwu

POEM 284: PEACE The best hurt [whatever that means] will eat at you for days, maybe even years, until something, some incident, some impulse, someone, maybe, triggers something in you that finally, will help expel it, and you'll find peace again, maybe. #365DaysOfPoetry #Pengician #SSA Enjoyed reading? God's Plan (ii) | Stefn Sylvester Anyatonwu

POEM 266: GOD'S PLAN (ii) From me to God: Dear God, good morning, Father Why do I feel like you slept last night? While I slept, as the manner of men is, you also laid you down to sleep? It's dawn but look, the sun is gone. Not one bird tweet a song. The little plans I tried to carry through, they've failed. The tool I thought to use, they're frail. Yet your word would not I sorrow, to pause a little while, and try, again, tomorrow? But yesterday, like years past, is lost, I can't see beyond this storm of dust. Got plans for me? I don't feel good. I might scale through, who knows? Do you? Your son, Stefn. From God to me: Dear Stefn, beautiful morning, son of man. I watched over you throughout the night. If you take me by the way you feel, then your faith in me isn't real. I say this not, to cause you shame. You're human, frail in faith, I was once the same. I have walked this path you crawl today. I once carried a cross of shame along this way. At a ...

Believe | Stefn Sylvester Anyatonwu

POEM 267: BELIEVE You may be getting older, but you can still get in time. You may have been denied a lot, but all is not lost. You may be slow at it, you’ve still got what it takes to make it. Believe! It's a journey, no two friends took off same time. Believe! It will take a while, but you'll be right on time. #365DaysOfPoetry #Pengician #SSA

I Found Solace In My Storm | Stefn Sylvester Anyatonwu

POEM 265: I FOUND SOLACE IN MY STORM I'm at that age of wishes evolving, when a lasting sigh takes the form of whispers, sowed in the patched sod of life throes, allowed, for a long time, to farrow: There's a storm in my head, I seek solace in it. I'm at that stage of wishes shape shifting, to take the form of that bane, that same bane that ruin and make a name. Dare I say I am a martyr who'll never die? There's a storm in my head, I seek solace in it. I'm at that page of wishes, where God is neither love nor faith but along span of pain, and loss...and gain? What the next page holds, I dread to know: There's a storm in my head, I seek solace in it. At this age staged on a page of many tales, where I stand nonchalant on solid mud, staring at a tomb of me erected 7 miles away, from perfection, the sweetest fruit, of my induction: There's a storm in my head, I seek solace in it. I am not a zephyr of rhapsodies, nay! lasting love is graffiti of illusions, I...

Don't Stay Down | Stefn Sylvester Anyatonwu

POEM 243: DON'T STAY DOWN The lowest of lows are just dwarf mountains. Do you know? If you find you there, rejoice! That's a low mountain beneath your feet. But. Don't. Remain. There. There's an Everest to mount. Until you gain such a height from which you, in grandeur, shall gaze around, don't stay down. #365DaysOfPoetry #Pengician #SSA Enjoyed reading? This Is How I Relieve The Past | Stefn Sylvester Anyatonwu

POEM 241: THIS IS HOW I RELIVE THE PAST this is how I relieve the past I visit the timeline I used to live and sit beside the younger me I throw an egg or two into a pan and make us an omelet by the fireplace, he sit and eat fast while I fiddle on the piano, and we talk about the past; we talk about how health was lost and recovered we talk about how fun it was to raise a false alarm how mum will sprint like flash into our room and how we'd echo 'April Fool' amidst laughter we chuckle while painting with words the clueless face mum makes and if she falls while running for the false alarm we massage her limbs and sing to her because we meant no harm. there were quarrels, siblings and I there were cherished moments we munched like snacks there were tasks as tough as haunting a snark there were tears and days quite awful the past reminds me of where I used to be and charts the path I'll walk right through the younger me reminds me of who I used to be and refuels my resolve...

Wild Thoughts | Stefn Sylvester Anyatonwu

POEM 235: WILD THOUGHTS you sit by the river of flooding ideas and watch your your thoughts run wild you lend your limbs to the wind and with the wings of many eagles you take your flight into distant 'what-if-lands' silence shut out the voices that beckon to distract your peak focus from off the eye of the bull shoot you must! so on you day dream realities you exhale and shun the desires that flaw tomorrow's bliss with doubt traps suddenly you yield you flop you are carried by the wind downwards your mouth spread to protests but words are lost you say nothing, you give up you fall yet, in the valley of this emptiness bereft of help above and hope below you roam like hungry rodents in a churchyard you wander aimless into more traps you circle same mountain over amd over and wonder why there seem to be no end rhyme to this verse but you don't give in to giving up you raise your head above your neck and.imagine yourself in a flood of thoughts you picture memories to be ma...

Sympathy, Heavens! Sympathy! | Stefn Sylvester Anyatonwu

SYMPATHY, HEAVENS! SYMPATHY! as parched as the sands of Sahara so am I; Oasis of victuals long lost, thistles and thorns. Bereft of lush,of green bereft. Panting in despair like a thirsty hare, I stand, bent and helpless, admiring in sweet anguish, the beautiful flames of my burning bush. With weak smiles drawing wrinkles lines of uncertainties on my face, I chew bitter cords of fate I play bitter chords of fate on an old stringless guitar. Why do I suffer? I starved no one! You've got the wrong man, karma! Am I some kinda Christ? Star with black stripes sit on my clay crown. I stay me down, seated on my clay throne. Is this royalty? Sympathy, heavens! Sympathy #Pengician #SSA Enjoyed reading? Commenting is now easy. I introduced Facebook Comment feature. Please help my blog grow by leaving a comment and sharing with friends. Thank you!
