Update: You're Loved & You Belong Here

Update: 'You're Loved & You Belong Here' While we all feel sad, moody or low from time to time, some people experience these feelings intensely, for long periods of time (weeks, months or even years) and sometimes without any apparent reason. Depression is more than just a low mood – it's a serious condition that affects your physical and mental health. Naturally, humans desire to be loved, appreciated and even crave validation from loved ones, but not all seem to get this desire evenly satisfied. We feel unloved, unwanted, less human, inferior, sad, hurt, rejected, dejected and eventually, suicidal.  This book is a collection of letters, articles and daily musings that serves as a reminder to you, who’s emotionally bruised that You Are Loved, And You Belong Here. shy, a poem

bashful, timid, quiet.  shy If anyone you know has used these terms to describe you, you're probably a bit shy. Everyone feels that way once in a while. Shyness and social anxiety are common, no matter how old you are. There is one myth about social anxiety and social anxiety disorder that I would like to dispel. The myth says that social anxiety is just exaggerated shyness. This myth encourages the idea that anxious people are merely weak-willed pushovers. It is partially because of this myth, I think, that well-intentioned people offer the relevant but insensitive and patronizing advice like, “Don’t worry about it!” , “Just do it” and “Face your fears.”  Thinking on all these, I wrote this poem: shy when a shy person speaks, it's like music from guitar strings. when a shy person smiles, it’s like the sun coming out when a shy person steps out it's like the uncommon visit of gods when a shy person reclines it feels like moon eloped from night when a shy person is 'i...

Don't Die

Don't Die I've learned to fill my black holes with droplets of hope perhaps someday a life unfair would be bleached to crystal clear and that which clouds my mind I'd fully understand I've learned to chalk my dark days with seven shades of grey, perhaps someday, perfection would dawn on me like sunshine does every evening what write I? Like moonlight surrounded by a blanket of dark skies my eyes beam light, hope, life, a similitude of dawn don't die #Pengician #SSA Enjoyed reading? Please leave a comment and share with friends. may you find joy

may you find j.o.y may you never lose your sense of wonder and cease not to wander in search of joy here and yonder may you hold on to your sense of humor and with it brighten the lives of everyone may you go beyond ordinary goals, discover the extraordinary, silence stereotypes and dislodge abnormal norms may you keep on trying to reach for your stars, perhaps you'd fall on the moon and silvery lights illumine may you never forget how wonderful you are and that you're unique, like everyone else may you always be patient with the problems of life, and know that heavy clouds will eventually give way to the sunlight of the joy that comes with dawn may you be rewarded with friendships not seasonal, and with love not conditional may you face challenges with renewed faith, meet every day with a knowing smile recognize every golden opportunity, and dance your way through storms may your source of income be a hydra so that your needs are met with little or no fin...

Sunday Musing || When It feels Like God's On Leave

“Rejoice in the Lord always.”  Philippians 4:4 Through the above quoted five words, God shows us that internal joy cannot be tied to external circumstances. When one is unemployed, when flaws are exposed, and when most meaningful relationships were broken or dysfunctional, God reminds us that joy in the Lord is still possible. God does not cruelly tell us to put a smile on our face no matter the pain in our hearts. Rather, Philippians 4:4 reminds us that no matter what is happening around us, we can still have immense joy because God, not our circumstances, is the source of all joy. “Rejoice no matter what” and “Rejoice in the Lord always” are two very different imperatives. God never tells us simply to rejoice no matter what. He tells us to rejoice in him no matter what. Yet, There are times when the soul feels alienated from the Giver of life and a son feels like a bastard orphan, poor and depressed.  Philippians 4:4 loses it's meaning. No joy. Not even in the Lord.  Y...

Be You. That's What You're Born To Do

Be You. That's What You're Born To Do It throws back all it receives with a glow: Be like your mirror. It stays true to itself in days bright and dreary nights: Be like your shadow. It takes humans to heaven and back an assurance that life's worth the living: Be like a moan You're not just a boy, son you're the light of dawn crawling over mountain tops Glow. Be you, for that's what you're born to do #Pengician #SSA Enjoyed reading? Please leave a comment and share with friends. Thank you!

Sunday Musing || The Broken Painting

The Broken Painting Once upon a time, a well known painter was finishing his painting. It's an incredibly beautiful painting to be shown during Princess Diana's marriage. The painter was consumed by and excited with his own painting that he unconsciously took a few step backward while admiring the 2x8m painting. He didn't look back when he walked backward. He kept on walking backward until it was a step away from the edge of the tall building. Just one more step backward and he could get himself killed. A man saw what the painter was doing and was about to shout at him to warn him when he realized that his shout might have surprised the painter and thus made him incidentally took one step backward and fell down. The man then took a brush and paint and began to paint on the beautiful painting until it was completely damaged. Upon realizing what's happened to his painting the painter got very angry and moved forward to hit the man. However, some other people who were also...

Friday Motivational || Look Up

Look Up! I had to get a new pair of eyeglasses that year. Stereotypism had started to mix with my nearsightedness making things a little bit blurry with my vision. Also I had to finally give in to another sign of long hours staring into the computer screen and get my first pair of bifocals. It has taken me several days to get used to the new pair. While it was great seeing clearly again and wonderful being able to operate the computer without squinting and bring my face one inch closer to the screen, the lenses were a challenge for me.  The problem was that whenever I was looking at something far away I had to keep my eyes up or else I got a wave of blurriness when I accidentally looked through the sides of lenses.  It did hurt then. I am glad that my eyes healed and I am way over it. It is no fun living in a blurry world. I am grateful for that experience for another reason too. It taught me a truth that I will hold close to my heart forever: whenever you need to see the road...

Fences and Defenses

Fences and Defenses while I learnt how to scale the fence and place my life on the balance, others sat lazily on the fence until he lost balance sometimes ,  we scale these fences our chances at life to weigh and then throw down walls of defenses to show others the way #Pengician #SSA Enjoyed reading? Random Thoughts

Sometimes, it's difficult to not love a poet. One could hardly tell when it is 'just poetry' from when 'it's from the heart' Genuine! As the sun sets, he rouses her desires with words. "You have a fine forehead  and obvious cheeks.  Tiny well-crafted ears.  They fit just well on your head." He also plays on words. Intentionally. "And oh, your smile. Somewhat titty. Not so long neck. Not short either." She is also a poet. One whose way with words amazes even the creator of languages. 'People barely notice my ears but you did,  beautiful eyes you got there. I still remember what the autumn leaves told the ground. ' He replies: "I'm falling for you?" 'The problem with loving you or having an awesome lover like you is, you will always get away with anything. You are too awesome.' "I'm smitten" They chuckle. Her blushes, obvious. Passion? Lust? The way he looks at her, straight in the eye. Passion? Lust...

I Survived The Storm Anyway

I Survived The Storm Anyway grew up down town, in a small town when the rain come down, i'd just stare out my window by the balcony dreaming of what could be and how to be i ask the lord a thousand questions, won't the storm in my head break me? would i ever, maybe, break even? i wonder if i'd ever end up happy mum: if you pray, you'd survive any way then i'd go down on my knees shut my eyes and say 'lord, at your feet, i lay me down my fears i pray i outlive my fallen peers. and if this storm, dear lord, would not abate i pray the lord my soul to take' amen! grew up down town, in a small town  i think i survived the storm anyway #Pengician #SSA   Enjoyed reading? Colours, Basket, Storms and Unrequited Love

Colours, Basket, Storms and Unrequited Love sometimes he's a basket of rainbow colours sitting on the head of an old woman: back bent,  age stricken once poverty stricken twice but her husky and spent voice sing the rainbow into her her worn basket until the storm or life begone. other times, he's a bridge lying still over stormy waters, watching his dreams being tossed up, down, left, right in the raging arms of an angry ocean, whose culture spells three words: wonder, wander, water: he stares at her liquid wonder spread into the horizon he wanders, first sole deep, scared then soul deep, fearless until he's drawn into the muddy whirly center of her to become one with her water well, tonight, he's a trio versed poetry carelessly scribbled on the tombstone of his dreams: here lies genuine love, dead alive. moan if you may, but don't cry. Aba! #Pengician #SSA   Enjoyed reading? Please leave a comment and share with friends. Thank you!

i rose from torn rags

i rose from torn rags give me your names and I will write someday what my heart knows exists but cannot feel with words hopeless, scattered letters on a canvas like poor substitutes for what they're in vain, words. just words. vain words. actions slain. let me hear the sound of your deeds grow louder than empty barrels that wasn't mine to believe so i laid still like a rag ready to be used the same old rag that wipes your feet for you to be able to walk again, happily perhaps, away from me, like a polished shoe from the shoeshine i wished you could see me through the dirge that accompany your lies i wished you could see through the dirt under which i lie so i let you pick me up, every sunday morn to wipe clean your dirty feet from many wanton wanderings i took them in, the pebbles and the dust, the ugly odour of sweat and dust never let them stick to your shoe, because it's you because it's your feet diseased with cow dung rooting in the dirt of puddles sole deep rottin...

my heart is a mushed mess of roses

my heart is a mushed mess of roses              sometimes he plays hard to find like god, covering the face of moses with the back of his palm he'd shield the roadmap to his heart with a smokescreen, walk past her like a floating shadow leaving behind scatter images of who he is              and she believes them              she holds these images sacred              like a nun does the effigy of mary              she kneels before a faux memory of him              to offer lip service of wanton wishes              oil his limbs with juices of affection              and raise a 'hallelujah' to his sneezes              b(e)less me! sometimes, he wishes she could see beyond the ...

Monday Motivational: 10 Things to do if You're Feeling Lonely

Have you ever been in a room crowded with people and still felt lonely? The truth is, you can feel lonely anywhere, anytime. I’ve put together a guide to help you feel more connected to those around you. 1. Start small The best way out of loneliness is to start small with some simple social interactions. Try making small talk with the cashier at the supermarket or starting an IM chat via Messange, Whatsapp, Telegram, with a friend. Aye! It might feel super awkward at first, but these small interactions can help you feel less alone and isolated. 2. Hang out with like-minded people What are you into: video games, yoga, writing, music, books? Joining a club is an awesome way to meet and connect with like-minded people. Your school or community centre might run different clubs, so check out if there’s something there that’s right for you. Another option is Meetup. It brings together people who enjoy similar things or activities, whether that be fitness, poetry, photography, tech or, well …...
